Spring is back....lol! For how long this time I'm not sure!
Life On The Farm: Well...I took the man shopping....only shopping... once the front of the house has been completed than picking the BBQ he wants will be so much fun. We saw so many awesome BBQ's at Luxe Barbeque Company! As we went through them I realized there are so many different ones just for the various different lifestyles or food choices and preferences people have. Not sure where we are going to put it...the cedar shakes shouldn't catch on fire too easily anyhow...and they certainly wont melt so I'm a bit torn. We are looking for a classic BBQ with the option to have a griddle so we can make pancakes on it!! Wanna come for breakfast?

Welcome New Subscribers: I am shocked on a daily basis at how many people are becoming part of our Ranch Family and its quite humbling. I am very grateful to have all of you to send newsletters to weekly.
Order & Shipping Update: Beef Share orders are closing on March 31st.
Chicken pre-orders are OPEN until May 1st as we have to put our chick order in! Then you will get the see the process of how we graze the chickens on the grass daily!
From Our Customers: We are very excited to congratulate Lyle Koop as he won the $50 gift card we donated to Manitoba- Smoke & Grill (BBQ) facebook page for the month of February! They will be having another draw at the end of March so please go join their page and see what the requirements are. For the months of February & March we donated a $50 gift card for The Canadian Birch Company. They have a great gift pack of BBQ sauces, gluten free and made from Canadian Birch syrup...very delicious and certainly bring out the flavor of the meat. |
Product Spotlight: Brown Sugar's T-Bone Steaks! Below you will find part of a steak...I split it with my father-in-law it was so HUGE! Filled the whole plate! We had invited my in laws for supper and Justin did the sear and bake on the steaks! (Grassfed Beef cooking guide) and wow they were tender and juicy! However....Justin of course had to mention that they would have been much better on a BBQ. I'm holding firm! Brown Sugar was a calf we had bottle fed...he was the runt...very tiny and yet he grew to be the biggest, most kind steer, then we ate him. The End! |
![]() Recommendations: Today's recommendation is going to be slightly out of the ordinary. Our 93 year old neighbor went into the hospital a bit more than a week ago. Justin and I went to visit him to see how he was doing and for a 93 year old man he is doing as well as can be expected. This man has been such a great help to us. He has been like the farm grandpa! Last summer much to my dismay he helped Kohen, Pablo (exchange student...you'll get to meet him in the summer) and I pull a calf who was a bit large. I had not ever pulled a calf before so here he is can barely walk and full of whit shows me how to do it (while helping) and proceeds to walk away afterwards and says...."Just call me Doc Baker." A great man! When we took the kids to visit him we loaded him into a wheel chair and took him down to Tim Hortons for a coffee and muffin. He really enjoyed getting to see outside for a bit. A man that works outside all the time having to be in the hospital bed with no windows was kind of depressing. He loved it! Next visit will be to bring him the cookies the kids and their friends made for him. So my recommendation this week is... go visit that neighbor in the hospital. It brightens their day and they look forward to the next visit. Life seems long at times however in reality it is truly short! Appreciation: We appreciate all of the follows and likes on the Spirit Sands Ranch facebook page and instagram! We are happy to be of service! |
